According to Globenewswire, Wang & Lee Group, Inc., a key player in green energy innovation, has entered into a strategic partnership with Cystar Limited and City University of Hong Kong to advance the development of high-performance, eco-friendly lithium-ion battery technology. This collaboration aims to create a large-format lithium-ion battery pack optimized for electric bicycles, mobility scooters, three-wheel vehicles, ATVs, and light electric vehicles (LEVs). The new technology is also expected to be integrated into the automotive and robotics sectors.

Key Features of the Lithium-Ion Battery Innovation

The new-generation battery pack is engineered to provide superior electrochemical stability, energy density, and cycle life. With a 52V rating and 500W power output, it is tailored to meet the growing demands of urban mobility solutions. The battery’s specialized electrolyte combination enhances:

  • Longer Battery Lifespan: Reduced degradation over multiple charge cycles.
  • Higher Energy Efficiency: Optimized for extended driving range.
  • Enhanced Safety Standards: Advanced thermal stability to prevent overheating and reduce fire risks.
  • Sustainability & Eco-Friendliness: Lower environmental impact compared to traditional lithium-ion cells.

“This project underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability, as we work towards creating environmentally-friendly solutions for the transportation sectory.” – Pui Lung Ho, CEO, Wang & Lee Group, Inc.

Strengthening Global Battery Supply Chains

The partnership also involves the establishment of a battery R&D center at City University of Hong Kong’s Kawasaki Plant, focusing on next-generation battery chemistry and in-house production capabilities. The goal is to develop cost-effective, domestically manufactured battery cells to strengthen global supply chain resilience and reduce reliance on external sources.

This initiative aligns with Wang & Lee Group’s broader business strategy to expand its footprint in energy storage technologies, capitalizing on the rising demand for electric mobility and robotics applications.

Industry Trends: The Growing Demand for High-Performance Batteries

According to a recent International Energy Agency (IEA) report, the global EV battery market is projected to exceed 6,000 GWh of production capacity by 2030, driven by increasing demand for e-mobility solutions. The surge in e-bike and LEV adoption further highlights the need for high-efficiency, cost-effective batteries.

“We are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of energy storage technology and driving advancements in green transportation solutions.” – Cystar Limited Representative

Future Outlook

With global demand for high-performance EV and robotics batteries on the rise, Wang & Lee Group’s collaboration with Cystar Limited and City University of Hong Kong is a major step toward advancing lithium-ion technology. The initiative not only enhances supply chain security but also reinforces the transition to cleaner, more efficient energy solutions. Through continued R&D investment and strategic industry collaborations, Wang & Lee Group is well-positioned to shape the future of lithium-ion batteries, driving sustainable energy solutions for e-mobility, robotics, and beyond.
