According to Auto Tech News, AVL List GmbH has unveiled its Digital Battery Passport, a cutting-edge solution aimed at ensuring sustainability and transparency across the battery value chain. The launch comes in response to the EU Battery Regulation, which mandates all batteries sold in Europe for electric vehicles (EVs), light transportation, and industrial applications (over 2 kWh capacity) to adopt a digital battery passport by 2027. This initiative aligns with the EU Green Deal, setting new benchmarks for compliance, environmental responsibility, and lifecycle optimization.
The AVL Digital Battery Passport surpasses regulatory requirements by integrating comprehensive data on battery performance, lifespan, material usage, recycled content, and compliance with supply chain due diligence obligations. Accessible via an intuitive, cloud-based dashboard, the solution ensures:
• Data Sovereignty: Flexible customization while safeguarding customer data.
• Seamless Integration: Compatibility with existing IT systems for smooth implementation.
• Security: State-of-the-art cloud infrastructure and tamper-proof authentication methods to guarantee data integrity and availability.
AVL is a technology company, specializing in the development of powertrain systems, testing, and simulation technologies. AVL has partnered with PwC and Microsoft to ensure seamless integration and comprehensive support for customers adopting the Digital Battery Passport. This collaboration strengthens AVL’s role in leading the transformation of the battery industry.
