The launch comes in response to the EU Battery Regulation, which mandates all batteries sold in Europe for electric vehicles (EVs), light transportation, and industrial applications (over 2 kWh capacity) to adopt a digital battery passport by 2027. This initiative aligns with the EU Green Deal, setting new benchmarks for compliance, environmental responsibility, and lifecycle optimization.
The AVL Digital Battery Passport surpasses regulatory requirements by integrating comprehensive data on battery performance, lifespan, material usage, recycled content, and compliance with supply chain due diligence obligations.
